September 16-17 Wisconsin

Traditional Barn with rounded roof.
Not much to report, we are now in the U.P. (Upper Peninsula of Michigan)  We saw no large cheeses in Wisconsin.  We were happy to leave the plains behind and travel through varied countryside, from cranberry blogs to pine forest.  We did see an Amish buggy and a lot of traditional barns with their rounded roofs rather than a hard chine roof that one normally sees around the west on a barn. (the pic is off the web, there is no snow on the ground yet.)  Every farm has at least one silo .

Today we crossed  into the U P and saw Lake Michigan for the first time.  It is a very big lake can’t see the other shore, but the surf is small, more of a chop than breakers.   Went to the super market and the checker was very friendly and talked just like the characters in the movie “Fargo”
We have been spending a lot of time on the road and are getting tired so I think we will spend a day or so to recoup and then we will cross over back into Canada for a while. We crossed into the eastern time zone, just a day ago we were at the geographical center of the country.
